A Long History

The Miss America Organization dates to 1921 and is closing in on the century mark of providing scholarship to women.

The Miss York County Scholarship Organization, a preliminary to Miss Pennsylvania and Miss America, has been in operation for over 70 years, providing thousands of dollars in scholarships to young women in our community.  Competing not only helps women pay for college and prepare for a career, it also provides an opportunity to gain additional life experience, work on issues of importance to society, enhance personal and professional skills and develop performance-related and other talents.
